Assistant Head of School
After more than 25 years as a Montessori educator, I continue to embrace learning alongside the children while trailblazing innovations for the future. While I’ve been a school administrator for seven years, my heart’s melody has been shaped by over 20 years as a Montessori Elementary 6-12 Guide, nurturing and supporting children, families, and fellow educators. My greatest joy has been working with students in the classroom while raising my two children in the Montessori tradition. My fondest memories are of teaching lower elementary with my infant daughter on my back; she always says she holds the world record for being the youngest first grader. My Montessori journey began in 1997 when I first stepped into a Montessori 3-6 classroom – a moment of clarity that sparked my dedication to this approach. Becoming certified in Lower Elementary in 1999 and Upper Elementary in 2007, I pursued my passion, culminating in a Master’s degree in Education with a Montessori emphasis in 2016.
I wholeheartedly believe in the transformative potential of Montessori education, which extends far beyond mere academic growth. It is a path to cultivate responsible, creative, curious, and compassionate individuals. My presence here at CMS is not just as an educator but as a fellow explorer of wonder and lifelong learning, standing side by side with the children and our exceptional educators. My mission is to ensure that each student’s educational journey is a tapestry woven with threads of joy, exploration, and those remarkable “aha” moments that truly make the art of learning enchanting.
My Montessori journey is further fueled by my passion for crafting cohesive organizational systems that promote excellence and positivity within our school community, guided by our children as our North Star. I am dedicated to Anti-Bias, Anti-Racist (ABAR) initiatives and proudly serve as our Co-chair, working to create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Additionally, as the Director of Student Services, my journey has been dedicated to creating and nurturing a robust student services program that caters to the unique learning styles and needs of our students. While supporting the excellence of our current educational experience, my focus extends to shaping an innovative secondary education program for ages 12-18 in collaboration with our dedicated team, ensuring a transformative educational journey for all students.
