Mateo Maloney
Earth Stewards Assistant/ Substitute
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Naropa University, where I focused on Permaculture and Indigenous Studies. I’ve earned two Permaculture Design Certificates and gained hands-on farming experience while living on a permaculture farm in Hawaii.
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2011, starting with youth at the Harlem Children's Zone in New York City, where I also co-led a summer arts camp. Since moving to the Hudson Valley, I’ve taught yoga at local schools, the Boys and Girls Club in Kingston, and Shakti Yoga in Woodstock. I also lead nature walks, teaching kids about plant identification and the healing benefits of forest bathing.
I’m excited to be part of a community like Catskill Montessori School that values holistic learning and connection to nature.
