3-6-Year-Old Assistant Guide
My life's work as a caregiver, artist, and parent is something that I am excited to share in my work as an assistant guide in the Herons classroom. I’ve found joy in caring for people in various capacities for over twenty years, attending births as a doula, being present for people in hospice, tending to families in the postpartum space, and offering childcare support.
I began my work in the visual arts as an assistant art director for Sephora and continued in a ceramics studio where I hand-painted ceramic objects for MQuan Studio. Over the next decade, I explored roles that deepened my connection to people at all stages of life, leading me to study birth, home funerals, infant sleep, holistic nutrition, postpartum support, and non-violent communication. These passions make me feel truly alive and grounded in my purpose. I’m committed to being present for people, encouraging them to slow down and tune into their physical bodies while also prioritizing their emotional needs.
As a kid, I craved a balance to the glow of New York City. I found that steady ground during visits to my grandfather's farm in Maryland, where I was free to explore the shorelines of the Chester River. My mind had space to receive, and my experience with the land greatly shaped how I interacted with the world before me. I’m inspired by the way CMS creates space for kids to be in connection to their innate curiosities while also providing opportunities throughout the day to be in relationship with the land. My time in Maryland and now in the mountains of the Hudson Valley has been vital to my own well-being, and I am honored to share in that joy with the students. I find myself rooted in the ambitious vision of Catskill Montessori and am truly delighted to be part of this ever-growing community.
