Jimmy Lawrence

(He/Him)
Physical Education Guide & Substitute

I was a former sponsored alpine ski racer with an NCAA Division I scholarship; I’ve raced cross-country mountain bikes at the professional level and won trail running races worldwide (including the Twin Lakes Marathon in Wanaka, New Zealand).

I have a bachelor's degree in sports science from Long Island University and a master's in clinical exercise science from the Univerity of Potsdam in Germany. I was a research assistant for over three years, researching how exercise benefits different populations. My research has recently involved artificial intelligence and augmented reality in sports medicine and education.

Besides working as the Physical Education guide for CMS, I am an adjunct professor of health and exercise science at Mercer County Community College. I am also writing a thesis for a second master's in wildlife conservation with a concentration in wildlife biology from Unity College. Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing in the creek with my daughter and reading John Burroughs.
