6–9-Year-Old Co-Lead Guide

I have been teaching for over sixteen years in various Montessori environments. I started as an assistant in 2001 at a small, rural, private school in Maine and also had the good fortune to teach in Paris, France, for a year at a bilingual Montessori school. Upon returning to the United States after 7 years, I discovered public Montessori. I spent three years co-teaching at Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School. In 2017, I earned my Master’s degree in Montessori Education from Loyola University. I also spent three years as a lead guide at Stonebrook Montessori in Cleveland, Ohio.

I grew up in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, surrounded by woods, creeks, and rivers, so being here at CMS mirrors HOME in such a magical way. I have appreciated the experience of teaching in public Montessori in urban and rural settings. I love gardening, hiking, and kayaking. I’ve been reading about the Catskills and look forward to exploring the trails and sleeping under the stars. I also enjoy working with my hands - anything from whittling to knitting.

When I first visited CMS, I fell in love instantly, from seeing a Bald Eagle fly over our heads during our walk around the land, to turning around in the outdoor classroom and seeing the glow of the Catskills in the distance. I walked into the Monarchs classroom and smelled the welcoming scent of timber and have felt so welcomed by a group of humans that feels like family.
