Emma Reynolds

(She/Her)
Extended Day Guide & Substitute

As a long-time babysitter, nanny, camp counselor, and youth climbing instructor, I have been humbly impacted by the energy and passion that children create. I was first introduced to Montessori through children I cared for, first seeing the reverberations of a Montessori education in the home sphere. I was drawn to the inclusion of children into adult work and life, and I loved the freedom and emotional expression fostered in these families. It was special to see the direct impact of a Montessori education beyond the classroom.

As a person, I am largely informed by my work in community outreach and nonprofit work. I am passionate about emphasizing and working towards a more equitable world. Issues such as food security and social access to food, access to healthcare of all kinds to all humans, and the communal responsibility for the health of our planet all hold importance to me.

I have an educational background in biology and anthropology, and one day, I hope to combine the two to provide culturally and socially conscious healthcare. I am currently preparing to apply to medical school, but on any given day you’re likely to find me cooking, climbing, fly fishing, or just plain enjoying our breathtaking planet. I am thrilled to be a part of the wonderful CMS team as an Extended Day guide and substitute, where I hope to deepen my experience and knowledge of Montessori education.
