Elementary Reading Specialist Guide
Qualifications
Knowledge of phonics-based curricula and assessments.
Master's Degree in Literacy Education or equivalent.
Experience facilitating literacy assessments for elementary-aged students in a classroom or 1:1 instructional setting.
Deep awareness of and sensitivity to children’s individual learning challenges, styles, and intelligence.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and consult with the DOE and classroom teachers.
Active enthusiasm for CMS’ founding principles of People Care, Fair Share, and Earth Care.
Ability to work well and positively as part of a team, with basic computer skills and explicit knowledge of Google Suite.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation & Hours
Part-time, 1099 independent contractor
$30-$40 per hour (commensurate with experience)
A highly flexible, part-time role (just a few hours per week) following our balanced-year calendar. Morning availability Monday-Thursday is preferred, but we will collaborate with you to design a custom schedule within our standard school day (9:00 am - 3:30 pm).
